Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Regional Conservation Area covers more than 1 million acres (4,200.8 sq km). Hundreds of species of primates, birds, reptiles and fish were documented in the reserve by the Field Museum of Chicago, USA, during fieldwork in 2003.
Located 100km south of Iquitos, the Tamshiyacu-Tahayo Reserve is a protected jungle area. Bordering the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, it is emerging as a biodiversity hotspot and a refuge that protects one of the most pristine jungle ecosystems in the Amazon rainforest.
A natural paradise, home to emblematic species such as the harpy eagle, the curassow, the giant otter and the red brocket deer, is located about 3 hours from Iquitos. Thanks to the protection of the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Communal Regional Conservation Area, this paradise and these species, some of which are in danger of extinction, are preserved.

It’s hard to put into words just how amazing this place is—you really have to experience it for yourself! We stayed for three nights but honestly wished we had more time. The lodge is tucked away in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, and everything about it feels special. The accommodations were clean, cozy, and just right for the setting. The staff couldn’t have been nicer—so welcoming and always ready to help. Our guide was fantastic, making every moment of our stay unforgettable. And the food? Absolutely delicious! We’ll definitely be back.
We had an absolutely amazing time on the Yarapa River. The scenery was breathtaking, and we saw and experienced things we never even imagined. This trip gave us so many unique chances to spot incredible wildlife and truly immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Amazon jungle. Jungle hiking was stunning—sometimes challenging, but always rewarding. Exploring the smaller tributaries by canoe, searching for dolphins and otters, required patience, but it was so worth it. Our guide, Ricardo, was fantastic—fun, knowledgeable, and always full of energy. Camping in the jungle was an unforgettable experience, letting us fall asleep to the incredible sounds of the rainforest. My wife and I had such a wonderful time, and we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!

We aspire to offer a great sustainable tourism program in the rainforest as part of our commitment to preserving the largest rainforest on Earth and its aboriginal culture. We are descendants of the people who settled this land for millennia, people with incredible knowledge and understanding of environmentally friendly life. Our mission is to continue preserving this big forest for humanity, for oncoming children.
We perform our services in full compliance with Peruvian law, and its regulations to operate in Amazonia. Our Lodge has environmentally friendly sanitation, and safety regulations. We accomplish regulations enforced by the Peruvian Coast Guard and our boat drivers are licensed. We do not support businesses that mistreat, abuse, and profit from captive wild animals.
We actively collaborate with "Kamaq Maki", Quechua words for "Creative Hands", a community-run project to develop handicrafts to sell in our workshops. This opportunity is contributing to improving living conditions in our local community. About 5 women were committed to this initiative at the beginning, but now there are 12 associated women.
